. Do you offer City & Guilds or other official qualifications?
The dog grooming industry in the UK is not currently regulated, which means formal qualifications like City & Guilds are not required to work as a groomer or start your own business.
What truly matters is hands-on experience, confidence, and a strong portfolio.
At Dog World Academy, we teach through our own proven method, developed over years of real salon experience. Our training is built around the most popular dog breeds, and bespoke handling approaches for every dog. This means you’re not just learning theory, you’re learning how to groom real clients, with real expectations.
We focus on practical, hands-on learning, not tick-box assessments. You’ll groom over 70 dogs, build your confidence, and learn how to handle different coat types, temperaments, and grooming challenges — the skills employers and clients actually care about.
Many of our students go on to run their own businesses without needing City & Guilds certification
